Magento Development

Certified Magento 2 & Adobe Commerce builds — by an agency that's been shipping Magento since 2017.

Magento is hard. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never actually shipped a Magento store. It rewards specialists who understand the platform deeply and punishes generalists who treat it like a slightly fancier WordPress install. We’ve been a certified Magento agency since 2017 — and we’ve seen every shape of Magento project there is, from a small 200-SKU launch to a multi-warehouse B2B rebuild with five-figure monthly revenue rolling through it.

If you’re reading this page, you’re probably in one of three situations:

  • You’re launching a new store and Magento has been recommended to you — and you want to talk to someone who can tell you honestly whether it’s actually the right fit, rather than just selling you the build.
  • You’ve got an existing Magento store that’s slow, fragile, or out of date — and you need a team who can take over without breaking what already works.
  • You’re on Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce and you’ve hit the ceiling of what those platforms can do — and Magento (or Adobe Commerce) is the obvious next step.

Whichever of those you are, talk to us. The first call is free and useful — and if Magento isn’t the right answer, we’ll say so. We’d rather lose a sale than sell you the wrong platform.

Why pick us for Magento

Because we’re actually certified. We’ve held Magento Developer and Magento Solution Specialist certifications since the early days. Adobe-recognised, regularly retested. Plenty of agencies use the word “certified” loosely; we’ll show you the badges.

Because Magento is our deepest specialism. WooCommerce and Shopify are great for the right shape of business, but Magento is where we live. We know the quirks: the catalogue indexer that needs babysitting, the third-party payment module that doesn’t play nicely with the layered navigation, the .htaccess rules that make the difference between sub-second TTFB and a three-second wait. The unglamorous knowledge that only comes from a decade of fixing other people’s Magento builds.

Because we don’t outsource. Your project is built in Newport, Shropshire, by the same team you brief. No “offshore engineering partners,” no surprise handoffs to a developer in a different timezone who hasn’t read the brief. The person you Zoom with on Tuesday is the person fixing the bug on Wednesday.

Because we hand it over properly. When the project ships, you own the code, the data, the design system and the documentation. No vendor lock-in. If you decide in three years that you’d rather work with another agency, we’ll cheerfully help you move.

What we build

Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce stores from scratch

Bespoke storefronts on either the standard Luma theme or — increasingly — the Hyvä frontend, which we strongly recommend for new builds because it’s dramatically faster than Luma and easier to maintain. We handle the full stack: catalogue setup, attribute systems, configurable products, payment and shipping integration, tax rules, currency, B2B accounts, and the boring-but-essential admin training that means your team can actually run the store.

Magento migrations

From Magento 1 (yes, people are still on it), Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or older bespoke platforms. We’ve done dozens. We don’t do “lift and shift”; we treat a migration as an opportunity to clean up the catalogue, fix the URL structure, and rebuild the bits of the customer journey that never quite worked. See our dedicated Magento migration page.

Custom Magento extensions

When the off-the-shelf module almost-but-not-quite does what you need, we build the version that actually does. We’ve built everything from custom shipping calculators and rep-allocation tools to bespoke B2B punchout integrations. See Magento extensions.

Magento integrations

The store is only ever half the system. We integrate Magento with the rest of your stack: ERPs (SAP, Sage, NetSuite, Brightpearl, Linnworks), CRMs (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho), accounting (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage), warehouse and fulfilment (Mintsoft, Cin7, ShipStation, custom warehouse systems), and marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, dotdigital). See Magento integrations.

Magento performance & SEO

A slow Magento store loses you money on every page view. We do dedicated performance work: Varnish full-page caching, Redis sessions, image optimisation, CSS/JS bundling, deferred third-party scripts, and the Magento-specific tuning (indexers, cron, message queues) that most “generalist” Magento devs don’t touch. Combined with technical SEO, this usually moves Lighthouse scores from the 30s into the high 80s and Core Web Vitals from amber/red into green.

Ongoing Magento support

Magento needs looking after. Security patches drop monthly; integrations break when the third party updates an API; product changes need pushing out. Our Magento support plans cover all of that, with a real human on the other end of the email.

How a typical Magento project runs

Discovery (free) — a 45-minute call. We get under the skin of your business, your catalogue, your operations team, your integrations, your goals. By the end you’ll know if we’re the right fit; we’ll know if we want to take it on.

Detailed scope (paid, costed up-front) — typically a week or two. We write up exactly what we’re going to build, exactly what we’re not, and exactly what it costs. No “ballpark” that triples by the end of the project.

Build (8–16 weeks, sometimes longer for B2B) — we go straight to a working store on staging. You see real progress in week one, not a flat PDF in week four. You poke around, point things out, we iterate. Catalogue migration, design build, integrations, testing.

Launch — usually a quiet Tuesday at 10am, not a panic-y Friday at 5pm. We move the DNS, we monitor, we fix anything that wobbles. Most of our launches don’t.

Post-launch — first 30 days are included free. After that, you can move onto a support plan or pay us hourly for changes; your call.

FAQs

How long does a Magento build take? Typically 8–16 weeks from kick-off to launch. Big B2B builds can run six months. Migrations are usually quicker (we’re moving existing data, not designing from scratch).

Should I be on Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce? Open Source covers 90% of stores brilliantly. Adobe Commerce (the paid tier) is worth it if you need built-in B2B features, the Page Builder, advanced segmentation, or Adobe’s reporting suite. We can tell you in 30 minutes which is right for you.

Hyvä or Luma? For new builds, Hyvä almost always — it’s faster, simpler and easier to maintain. Luma still makes sense if you have a heavily customised existing theme you can’t justify rebuilding.

Do you take on Magento rescues? Yes, often. We have a structured process for inheriting a Magento codebase — audit, prioritise, stabilise, then improve. Get in touch and we’ll book in an audit.
